Kerala is ablessed with beautiful beaches. they are the most important tourist attractions of the state. Kerala has a long coastline of 550 kms. The clean stands bound by continual rows of palm trees is a beauty to be cherished. It give the tourist the best opportunity for sunbathing ,boating and swimming, kerala is also blessed with a network of lagoons,lake ,and rivers. They are best suited for inland navigation.

Alappuzha Beaches is a beach in the Alappuzha district of the Kerala. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful beaches in India. The beach has a small park nearby. An old lighthouse stands near the beach which is also a curiosity for tourists.At one end are the dense palm groves that are so characteristic of Kerala's landscape. It has a long sandy beach. For the entertainment of visitors there is a Vijaya Beach Park and an old lighthouse nearby. Entertainment facilities at the Vijaya beach park add to the attractions of the beach. The Vijaya beach park consist of picnic spot with children's park & boating facilities.

Bekal beach is near the town of Kasargode. It is near the Karnataka border. The Bekal Fort near beach is one of the largest forts in kerala.Bekal is a sleepy village on the coast of Arabian Sea and it is 64 km south of Mangalore. Centuries old Fort, virgin beaches and pristine backwaters are the key attractions here. This is the only Special Tourism Area declared by the Govt. of India, in God's Own Country. Bekal is fast developing as an international beach destination.This extraordinary part of Kerala, with its scintillating natural features is aptly marked by a number of ancient temples, forts and festivals. Virgin beaches, serene backwaters, and scenic mountain ranges in this part of God’s own country offer a mixed bag of amusement to visitors coming from different parts of the world. Bekal Fort is the largest fort in Kasargod District of Kerala, south India. The fort faces the Arabian Sea. Bekal fort stands on a promontory between two long classically beautiful palm fringed beaches. This is the largest, best preserved fort in kerala.

Kappad Beach is part of Indian history. It was here Vasco da Gama landed on 27 May. 1498 with 170 men in three vessels.A small stone monument there commemorates the landing of this great explorer. There is an inscription on the stone which reads, Vasco da gama landed here, Kappadu kadavu, in the year 1948.'It is 16 km away from Kozhikode.

Kovalam is a beautiful sea resort. It is located around 16 km outside Thiruvananthapuram City.There beaches at Kovalam, separated by projections in to the sea. The larger one is Called light house beach. The second largest one is Hawah Beach. The third one is known as Samudra Beach.

Marari Beach is a Beachin Alappuza District.It almost 11 kilometers from the town.Marari Beach an endless vista of sand and surf, but it is more. An authentic experience of the world of kerala's traditional fishing villages and a recreation of an ancient harmonious way of life.Marari beach   is a little known beach in Alapuzha. The word Marari originates from 'Mararikulam', the local fishing village in Alleppy. Marari beach is not a famous tourist destination. It is quiet,sleepy and calm with lots of sand peaks. The most important part of Marari is it's fishermen and their life. You can see the world as it was 100 years ago. The temperature in Marari is warm and humid. The best time to visit Marari is from October to May.
Marari beach   is barely 11km from Alleppy town and 70 km from Kochi. This place can be accessed by almost all sorts of transportation. If you want to travel by air, there are two airports; Thiruvananthapuram International airport at a distance of 155km away and Kochin International airport at 85 km away.
                                                  Muzhappilangad Beach

Muzhappilangad Beach is 14 km from mahe. Presence of black rocks protects Muzhappilangad from strong currents. Thus it is very safe for swimmers.
The main attraction of this Muzhappilangad beach is a beach festival is celebrated in the month of April. This festival attracts many people and young adventurous people try many driving stunts in cars like drifting and wheeling in bikes as this is a paradise for driving along the shore.
You can find an unpaved road winding via coconut groves leading towards the beach. The beach is surrounded by black rocks, which also safeguard it from the stronger currents of sea.
The charming feel of this picturesque Muzhappilangad beach invites you to swim, take a sun bathe, or simply be idle around. From Muzhappilangad, you can also observe the Dharmadam Island or the Green Island. An amazing combination of beach and island is just across the Anjarakkandy River.
Since 1990, the Muzhappilangad beach has seen a consistent arrival of European tourists during winter.
                                                                      Papanasam Beach

Papanasam is a Beach near Varkala. The name of the Beach literally means 'Destroyer of the sins'. Nature water springs from the cliffs near the Beach are famous for their medicinl qualities. It is the best spot along kerala coast for watching sunset. The sight of the sun melting in to the sea is really beautiful.Varkala beach (also known as papanasam beach) is situated on the outskirts of Thiruvananthapuram District.  Varkala beach is called Papanasam beach because it is believed that a dip in the water destroys all kind of sin.  Hence, people prefer this shore for their offering of “vavubali” in honour of ancestors and relatives whose souls are in rest.  After the offering of “vavubali”, people visit Sree Janardhana temple and get done ‘Thilakahoma”, a pooja done for the sublimation of the departed souls.  The 2000 years old Sree Janardhana Swami temple and the mineral springs are the main attractions of this place.  Sree Janardhana Swami is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Maha Vishnu.  The mineral spring near the beach is considered to have medical and curative properties and the people who visit here, never come back without drinking the holy water from the spring.  Sometimes they like to have a dip in the holy water too.
                                                   Shanghumugham Beach

Shanghumugham is a popular city Beach near Thiruvanathapuram airport. An indoor recreation club,children's park and a star shaped restaurant are some of thee facilities at the Beach.
The Shanghumugham Beach lies about 8 km away, on the Western part of Thiruvananthapuram city. The huge sculpture of a 'Nymph' (Jalakanyaka) made by the famous sculptor Sri Kanai Kunjuraman is a great attraction.
A star-shaped restaurant is also seen here. The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport and a flying club are located near by. Fishing is an attractive scene in Shanghumugham Beach.
Shanghumugham beach wears a festive look during the temple festivals. The beach is more crowded during the weekends and local holidays. Sunset at this beach is sight worth seeing. The Chacha Nehru Traffic Training Park here attracts children and helps them to learn the traffic rules.
The number of people visiting the beach has increased in recent times. There are many vendors who put up street side stalls around the beach.
                                                             Thirumullavaram Beach

Thirumullvaram is located about 6km north of kollam. The presence of long rows of plan trees makes it a beautiful place.
An unspoilt beach with shallow waters close to the Kollam city, Thirumullavaram could rival Kovalam Beach Resort given due attention. Even children could swim in peace at the beach during low tide when the water recedes by half a kilometer. Presently it is an idal spot for budget tourism.
The beach takes its name from the Vishnu temple close to the beach where thousands gather every year to pray for their dear departed on the new moon day in the month of Karkataka of the Malayalam era (July-August). Folklore has it that the temple was one of the seven established by Parasuram who raised Kerala from the sea.
